Love is . . .
❤️ The
Cost and Power of Love
“A new commandment
I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one
another.” — John 13:34 (NIV)
Love is not a suggestion—it is
a command. And not just any love, but the kind Jesus modeled: sacrificial,
forgiving, and deeply involved. This is the heartbeat of the New Covenant.
When Jesus said, “As I have
loved you,” He pointed to a love that laid down everything. A love that
washed feet, bore betrayal, and carried a cross. That is the love we are called
to reflect.
💔 Love Costs
Something
- It costs time when we choose to listen.
- It costs pride when we choose to forgive.
- It costs comfort when we choose to serve.
- It costs convenience when we choose to stay
committed.
Love is not passive. It’s not a
feeling that fades. It’s a choice—a daily, deliberate act of grace.
🤝 Love Is
Involvement
True love cannot remain
distant. It steps in. It shows up. It works through misunderstandings, offers
apologies first, and seeks restoration. Love doesn’t wait to be repaid—it gives
because giving is right.
- Love says, “I’m sorry,” even when it hurts.
- Love gives without expecting.
- Love heals what pride would leave broken.
🙏 A Prayer for
Today
God of love, fill my heart with
Your love today.
Teach me to love as You have loved me—sacrificially, humbly, and sincerely.
Help me to forgive quickly, serve willingly, and give generously.
Let my love be more than words—let it be action.
Amen.
May your life today be marked
by the kind of love that costs—and heals. And may others see Christ in the way
you love.
