Bless Those Who Hurt You

Bless Those Who Hurt You -

"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. Love the people who want to hurt you. If people cause you trouble, pray that God will help them." Matthew 5:44

There is a sacred ache in loving those who have wounded us. It defies logic, stretches the soul, and mirrors the mercy of God. When Jesus spoke of loving enemies, He wasn’t offering a poetic ideal, He was revealing the radical nature of heaven’s love. A love that bleeds, forgives, and blesses in return.

To bless those who hurt us is not weakness. It is warfare. It is choosing heaven’s response over hell’s retaliation. It is the quiet strength of a heart that refuses to be hardened.

 A Gentle Invitation:

Who has pierced your peace? Whose words still echo in your memory? Today, Jesus invites you to release them, not into vengeance, but into blessing. Speak life over their name. Pray healing over their journey. Ask God to flood their heart with the same grace that rescued yours.

This is not denial. It is divine defiance. It is saying, “I will not let bitterness define me. I will not let pain become my personality. I choose love.”

Lord Jesus,  You loved me when I was unlovable.  You forgave me when I was unrepentant.  Teach me to love like You.  I bless those who have hurt me.  I release them into Your mercy.  Heal my heart, and heal theirs too.  Let my life echo Your grace.  Amen.

Write the name of someone who has hurt you.  Now, beside their name, write a blessing.  Let heaven rewrite the story.
